Alfred Hitchcock photographed in 1974 by Philippe Halsman at his home in Bel Air, California.
Alfred Hitchcock and Anthony Perkins confer on the set of Psycho (1960).
The legend goes that when Anthony Perkins got the gig playing the lead as Norman Bates in Psycho, Hitchcock gave him some money for his wardrobe. Perkins, a dyed in the wool Brooks Brothers man, just wore his own clothes courtesy of the Brothers store and kept the money. The shirt Perkins wears in this photograph is a Brooks Brothers original all-cotton Oxford cloth.
